About The Role
We are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join our growing team within the Digital Modernization division. This fully remote position is primarily tied to the Washington, DC Metro area, with occasional in-person meetings required. As a UI/UX Designer at ICF, you will work closely with developers, product owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to craft compelling and accessible user experiences across various digital platforms. Your role will involve translating user research and requirements into engaging wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that adhere to federal standards such as Section 508 and WCAG.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our digital solutions are user-friendly, accessible, and aligned with agency branding standards, including the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS). Your human-centered design expertise will help shape innovative solutions that meet user needs and drive mission success.

About The Role

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, Web Design, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably within public sector or mission-oriented environments
- 1+ years of hands-on experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
- Strong understanding of the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS)
- Proficiency in responsive design principles and accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG)
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum development teams
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Reside within 50 miles of the Washington, DC Metro Area
- Participate in and lead ideation sessions, rapid testing, and concept validation to develop innovative UX solutions
- Design intuitive user interfaces and workflows based on user research, accessibility guidelines, and client specifications
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs to effectively communicate interaction concepts
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into user-centric designs
- Conduct usability testing, analyze results, and iterate designs to optimize user experience
- Work with product leadership to research, understand, and communicate user outcomes effectively
- Ensure consistency in design across platforms, aligning with agency branding standards and USWDS
- Advocate for Section 508 compliance and accessibility throughout the design process
- Support the development of design system components and style guides for scalability and long-term use
- Competitive salary range of $81,094.00 - $137,860.00 based on experience and qualifications
