Network Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure. In this role, you’ll ensure the stable operation, performance, and security of our network systems, supporting business operations and optimizing connectivity. You’ll work with a team of IT professionals to troubleshoot issues, perform upgrades, and lead network projects.

Network Design and Implementation:

• Design, configure, and deploy LAN, WAN, and VPN architectures to meet organizational requirements.
• Establish and document network standards, architectures, and configurations.
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software.

Network Performance and Optimization:

• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure optimal network availability.
• Optimize network performance through load balancing, bandwidth management, and traffic prioritization.
• Apply network updates, patches, and configuration changes to enhance security and performance.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
• Monitor network security protocols, address vulnerabilities, and maintain compliance with industry standards (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
• Work with the security team to prevent unauthorized access and protect against cybersecurity threats.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for escalated network issues, working closely with the IT helpdesk and system administrators.
• Respond promptly to network outages, diagnosing issues and ensuring timely resolution.
• Create documentation and train IT staff on best practices for network support.

Monitoring and Automation:

• Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Develop scripts and automation workflows to reduce manual tasks, including configuration management and monitoring alerts.
• Track network metrics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.

Project Management:

• Lead or contribute to network projects, including upgrades, new installations, and expansions.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers for procurement, support, and project requirements.
• Document network configurations, project plans, and maintenance logs for internal knowledge sharing.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency in networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with network devices and systems, including Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar equipment.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios).
• Knowledge of firewalls, security policies, and VPN management.

• Industry certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or CompTIA Network+.
• Experience with cloud networking solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud environments.
• Familiarity with SD-WAN and network automation frameworks.
