Product Designer (Munich)

--- What you will work on ---

The Emidat Platform breaks down the complexity of environmental data creation into a very simple user experience for the non-expert. Our users call our platform the “iPhone of the Environmental Data Platforms”. At Emidat, everyone on the product team has huge ownership and shapes the product development process. Since we are a young, fast-growing company, you can expect great work to be recognized and rewarded just as swiftly.

Your mission

Ensure that we continue to build the iPhone of the Environmental Data Platforms.

In the first 6 months, you will

• Autonomously drive User Research: In collaboration with Product Management, but also on your own, drive research activities to continuously grow the organization’s empathy with our target users.
• Shape Features from Start to Finish:
• Design both strategic, larger product initiatives as well as smaller improvements.
• Collaborate with Product Management & Engineering to align on problems, collaboratively explore solutions and translate them into high-quality, production-ready designs.
• For larger projects, conduct or co-lead user research to validate assumptions and uncover insights.
• Work Closely with Developers:
• Present and explain your designs in Cycle Planning.
• Support the Engineering team during implementation by answering questions and making quick iterations.
• Review final implementations to ensure they match the design intent, and flag or fix gaps as needed.
• Own Your Work:
• Scope your design work directly in Figma & Linear, adding context and explanations where necessary.
• Stay on top of your assigned tasks and move them forward autonomously.
• Engage in design-related discussions by responding to comments and questions in Figma & Linear conversations.
• Contribute to Emidat’s Design System: Help maintain and evolve our shared design system to ensure consistency and scalability across the product.

--- What you bring along ---

Based on what you know about the role 👆 you know best if you could thrive in this job.

These are some things that would help

• You have 5+ years experience as a digital product design, ideally in the tech start-up or scale-up environment.
• You have a proven track record of finding simple solutions to complex problems guided by an intuition for what makes a great user experience.
• You have expert proficiency in Figma.
• You are proficient in user research methodologies and tooling.
• You are able to autonomously manage your work areas and stakeholders in a fast-paced startup environment
• Bonus: Experience in building interfaces for AI products and complex B2B applications.
