Position overview

Salary range: 4200-4700 Eur Gross

We are seeking a skilled and security-conscious AWS Operations Engineer to join our enterprise platform team. This role focuses on the management, governance, and evolution of our AWS environment, ensuring it meets high standards of security, availability, and compliance. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, enabling them through reliable cloud infrastructure while enforcing best practices and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize the AWS Organization structure, including account management and service boundaries.
• Monitor and respond to platform alarms (via CloudWatch and DataDog).
• Investigate incidents and anomalies using AWS CloudTrail and other logging tools.
• Provide Just-In-Time access solutions to meet audit and compliance requirements.
• Implement and manage AWS IAM policies, roles, and permission boundaries.
• Govern the use of AWS Config, Security Hub, and related tools for continuous compliance.
• Develop and enforce policies for service usage, tagging, and resource provisioning.
• Manage infrastructure using CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Terraform.
• Integrate deployments into existing CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.
• Participate in reviewing and hardening AWS environments to meet enterprise-grade security standards.
• Lead and contribute to infrastructure improvement projects (e.g., standardized roles, VPC hardening, centralized logging).
• Manage secrets and access workflows using HashiCorp Vault.
• Collaborate with development teams to enable secure and scalable deployment patterns.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS Organizations and multi-account strategies.
• Deep understanding of AWS IAM, access management, and security controls.
• Experience with AWS Config, Security Hub, and CloudTrail for investigation and auditing.
• Experience with CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, especially GitHub Actions.
• Understanding of Just-In-Time access concepts and compliance-aligned controls.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in cloud environments.

Nice to have

• Experience using HashiCorp Vault in cloud infrastructure setups.
• Exposure to DataDog for observability and Dremio for data-layer integration.
• Knowledge of AWS networking, VPC design, and cost optimization.
