Job Title: Data Project Manager
Location: Mississauga – Hybrid – 3 days/week
Term: 12 months contract plus extension
Product & Trading exp required
Must have SQL exp
Role is 75% Data Analysis 25% PM
The role will be part of a Markets Program Execution Team responsible for ensuring the timely execution of technical data centric deliverables.
The candidate is preferred to have experience in Operations roles (Middle Office, Back Office), or experience in project management with a background in data and transformation. Expectation is to provide subject matter expertise and deliver meaningful solutions that are functional and sustainable.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Project Managers to drive the onboarding of critical datasets to a single strategic data lake
- Help the Senior PM's with design of strategic data models
- Own the delivery of key project streams, ensuring actions and milestones are accurately tracked and reported.
- Work directly with Technology teams and Business stakeholders to support the design and review of strategic data models
- Work directly with Compliance and Business stakeholders to define appropriate levels of data entitlement for each user group and each new dataset
- Maintain a disciplined approach to data governance and access, ensuring key controls are upheld.
- Take a hands-on approach to managing the end to end onboarding of datasets, working directly with SQL to sanity check implementations and to support both QA teams and the business during UAT
Skills Required:
- Working knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Working knowledge of Cash securities, ETDs, and OTC products
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of software delivery lifecycle and to coordinate end to end delivery across teams
- Demonstrable experience of daily management and tracking of technical deliveries
- Self-starting with the ability to multitask, prioritize and proactively seek out teams and individuals across the organization to help unblock issues
- Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem-solving capability
- Must be an energetic self-starter/able to drive initiative with minimal direction
- Organized, detail oriented, and able to track multiple workstreams / projects at once
Skills Preferred:
- Experience working with large datasets and database migrations preferred.
- Working knowledge of Tableau would be useful but not essential. Familiarity with Front to Back flow of trade data preferred (Trade, Position, Risk, P&L).
