Security Engineer Retailer Security

Are you a hands-on Security Engineer passionate about protecting complex, distributed environments? We are looking for an expert to help strengthen the security of a large retailer network across Europe.

Following a recent cyberattack on one of the retailers, there is strong leadership commitment to take decisive action. This role represents the first critical step in building a more secure digital environment for all retailers.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

Retailer Security Architecture

• Design and document a scalable security architecture for POS systems, local networks, and cloud environments
• Deliverable: Initial design + annual review

Security Hardening Guidelines

• Develop and maintain secure configuration baselines and hardening guides
• Deliverable: Quarterly updates

Vulnerability Management

• Implement vulnerability scanning and patching processes
• Deliverable: Monthly scans + remediation reports

Incident Response Playbooks

• Create and regularly test tailored incident response procedures
• Deliverable: Bi-annual review + quarterly drills

Security Awareness & Training

• Deliver targeted training and awareness programs for retailer staff
• Deliverable: Bi-annual sessions + ad hoc updates

Security Monitoring & Reporting

• Deploy monitoring tools and produce regular security posture reports
• Deliverable: Ongoing monitoring + monthly reporting

🎯 Your Profile

• At least 5 years of experience in security engineering, preferably in retail or distributed environments
• Solid expertise in network security, endpoint protection, and incident response
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI-DSS)
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Fluent in English
• Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience
