Frontend Developer (Web Components) – Contract and or Perm roles

Location: Hybrid, Dublin 2

We are seeking an experienced 2 experienced Frontend Developer on behalf of a global client. This role is part of a high-impact technology initiative to deliver a robust, reusable, and accessible agnostic UI component framework for enterprise-scale applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web component-based UI libraries using standards such as Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML Templates.
• Implement highly accessible, responsive, and performance-optimized components across diverse platforms and browsers.
• Collaborate with design, product, and engineering teams to ensure technical alignment and component reusability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Develop and maintain test coverage using unit, integration, and E2E testing frameworks.
• Stay informed of best practices and advancements in frontend engineering, accessibility, and web standards.

Candidate Profile

Essential:

• Proven experience in building web components and working with Web Component APIs (Custom Elements, Shadow DOM).
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, ES6+, and component libraries such as Lit, Stencil, or similar.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern layout systems (Grid, Flexbox, CSS Variables).
• Experience integrating components within React, Angular, or Vue applications.
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA) and a demonstrated commitment to inclusive design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices, version control (Git), and modern build tools (e.g., Webpack, Rollup, Vite).
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Karma) and E2E tools (e.g., Cypress).

Desirable:

• Exposure to micro-frontend architectures and component distribution across large-scale platforms.
• Experience working in distributed teams or with follow-the-sun delivery models.
