Android Mobile Engineer

Perplexity AI is looking for an experienced Android Mobile Engineer to join our small team revolutionizing the way people search and interact with the internet. You will be responsible for building and expanding the Perplexity Android app. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills, an interest in search and large language models, and a passion for delivering a great UX backed by a quality UI. Responsibilities include developing a performant native Android app that millions of users around the world enjoy using, working closely with product teams to implement novel mobile experiences, working closely with design teams to design fast and intuitive UI, and collaborating with data science and machine learning teams to instrument, analyze, and improve the end-to-end experience. Qualifications include 4+ years industry experience, expertise in Android Compose, Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, strong Android fundamentals with a modern Android stack built in Kotlin, enjoyment of building nice UI and good UX, understanding of performance and speed management, comfort working with a small, fast-moving team, and a passion for shipping.
