About the Role

We’re seeking a freelance Data Engineer to join our client’s HR Data Analytics team for a 6-month project based in Brussels. You’ll play a pivotal role in a high-impact SAP transformation, leading the migration from UNV to UNX environments. Your expertise will drive seamless data integration, infrastructure optimization, and empower advanced HR analytics and reporting. What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the migration from UNV to UNX in SAP BO, ensuring efficient and accurate data handling throughout the transition.
• Optimize SAP BW data structures to align with the UNX framework and support advanced analytics.
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from SAP HR, SAP BW, Oracle, and SQL-based databases.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines to ensure reliable data delivery during the transformation.
• Utilize MS Access and VBA for advanced data integration and manipulation tasks.
• Validate and test data structures rigorously to maintain accuracy and consistency across universes and queries.
• Collaborate with IT, HR Analytics, and business teams to align transformation efforts with organizational goals.
• Provide training and operational support to stakeholders on the new UNX environment, ensuring smooth adoption.
• Act as a subject matter expert, troubleshooting technical issues and reporting potential errors to the Tribe data hub.
• Gather and translate business requirements into efficient data engineering solutions tailored to the UNX framework.
• Support the development and optimization of SAP BO reports in the new environment, ensuring integration with tools like Power BI.

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, with a strong track record in SAP environments.
• Proven expertise in SAP BW, SAP BO, and UNV/UNX transformation projects.
• Hands-on experience with SAS EG, Oracle, SQL, and ETL processes.
• Advanced skills in MS Access and VBA coding for data integration.
• Experience in banking and data analysis environments is mandatory.
• Familiarity with HR data environments and HR metrics is a plus.
• Preferred: Experience with SAP 4HANA, DAX, Python.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; you thrive on tackling complex data challenges.
• Excellent communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in every deliverable.
