Data Protection Officer & Privacy Counsel

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified solicitor with 2–5 years’ PQE to step into a broad and dynamic Data Protection Officer & Privacy Counsel position. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organisation’s data protection framework, working closely with stakeholders across legal, compliance, product, HR, and operations.

The role offers a mix of legal advisory, strategic input, and hands-on compliance work. You’ll advise on GDPR and international privacy obligations, lead DPIAs, oversee third-party data agreements, and liaise with supervisory authorities when required. You'll also take ownership of internal training and awareness initiatives, contributing to a strong, organisation-wide culture of privacy compliance. This position suits someone looking to build their profile as a trusted advisor in data protection and privacy, while gaining exposure to senior decision-making in a growing, agile environment.

Who You Are

• A qualified solicitor (2–5 PQE) with strong experience in data protection law, gained in private practice or an in-house legal, privacy, or compliance role
• Comfortable advising on GDPR, ePrivacy, and international data transfer issues, including risk assessments and compliance programmes
• Confident drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and advising on high-risk processing activities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across non-legal teams
• Proactive and commercially aware, with a practical, solutions-focused approach to legal and compliance matters
• Keen to work in a fast-paced, international setting, and contribute to a business that values innovation and cross-functional collaboration
