Monthly Salary: 18,000 – 20,000 AED

Role Overview

Our Client is seeking a hands-on, technically strong Assistant IT Manager – Infrastructure to manage and support its end-to-end IT infrastructure operations. This role encompasses on-premises data centers, cloud services, enterprise networks, servers, storage systems, access control, and associated applications. It requires a proactive professional who can bridge IT operations with business objectives, ensuring performance, security, and continuity of mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operations & Support

• Deploy, maintain, and provide expert support for all core IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networks, Wi-Fi, telephony, access control, etc.).
• Lead incident, change, and problem management processes to ensure high availability.
• Manage backup/restore procedures and infrastructure documentation.
• Serve as escalation point for Level 2/3 support incidents and liaise with vendors/AMCs.

Cloud & Virtualization

• Support deployment and optimization of cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Administer virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V/KVM) including provisioning, backup, and monitoring.
• Assist with cloud workload migrations and cost/resource optimization.

Security & Compliance

• Enforce information security policies and participate in audits (e.g., ISO 27001).
• Manage endpoint protection, IAM, group policies, VPN, MFA, and encryption practices.
• Support patching, hardening, vulnerability assessment, and SIEM system operations.

Project & Procurement Support

• Support IT infrastructure projects from scope to delivery in collaboration with the Head of IT.
• Assist in vendor evaluation, procurement, licensing, and SLA/vendor management.
• Track project timelines, resources, and risks to ensure on-time execution.

Documentation & Governance

• Maintain updated documentation on infrastructure, configurations, and change records.
• Generate performance, incident, and uptime reports.
• Use ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, ManageEngine) to manage ticket resolution and SLA tracking.

Technical Competencies

Cloud & Virtualization

• Experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Proficient in VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM for server/desktop virtualization.

Servers & Storage

• Deep knowledge of Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP) and Linux administration.
• Experience with SAN/NAS/DAS storage systems, backup tools, and data recovery.

Networking

• Strong TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, VLANs, and SD-WAN understanding.
• Hands-on with enterprise-grade routers, switches, WAPs (e.g., Cisco, Aruba, Ubiquiti).
• VPN configuration and network diagnostic tool usage.

Security

• Familiarity with firewalls, SIEM, IAM, MFA, SSO, CIS hardening.
• Understanding of malware protection, threat response, and security frameworks.

ITSM & Scripting

• Experience with ITSM tools and ITIL framework (Incident, Change, Configuration, etc.).
• Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python.

General Skills

• Strong problem-solving and documentation capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 10+ years in IT infrastructure and support roles, with at least 5 years in server and networking administration.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and IT security tools.

Preferred Certifications

• Cloud: AWS/Azure/GCP certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Administrator).
• Networking/Security: CCNP, NSE, Security+, CISSP.
• ITIL Foundation or higher.

Work Environment

• Availability for after-hours support and critical maintenance events.
• Occasional travel to branch offices or remote sites.
• Participation in on-call support rotation.
