WHAT YOU’LL DO
This position is for an Onsite IT Support Engineer at one of our client sites, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of the client’s IT systems. You will contribute to the reliable technology infrastructure that enhances a state-of-the-art user experience. Your responsibilities will include addressing complex technical issues across hardware, software, cloud (Google Workspace, Office 365), and network (Cisco/Meraki) environments, ensuring minimal downtime for users.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Incident Resolution:
- Manage and resolve complex technical support tickets, particularly in Google Workspace, Office 365, and Cisco/Meraki environments.
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network-related issues, including VLANs, Cisco IOS, and wireless configurations.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring problems and implement permanent solutions.
- Escalate unresolved issues to 3rd line support or external vendors when necessary.
- Network Infrastructure Configuration:
- Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including Cisco/Meraki devices, VLANs, and wireless systems.
- Ensure smooth network operations by managing and updating Cisco IOS and other network systems.
- DevOps & SysOps:
- Support DevOps and SysOps processes, aiding in system automation and infrastructure as code (IAC) practices.
- Integrate automated deployment and monitoring tools into the IT infrastructure.
- Programming & Scripting:
- Use basic scripting skills (Python, Powershell, etc.) to automate routine tasks or solve system issues efficiently.
- Develop scripts to optimize workflows and resolve technical problems.
- System Maintenance & Monitoring:
- Proactively monitor IT systems and networks to prevent issues from affecting users.
- Maintain and upgrade the IT infrastructure, including Google Workspace, Office 365, and network services, with regular backups and updates.
- Ensure system security and stability through regular patches and maintenance.
- User Support & Training:
- Provide end-user support for issues related to Google Workspace, Office 365, network infrastructure, and other systems.
- Help users optimize workflows within both cloud platforms and provide technical guidance and training as needed.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to resolve cross-platform issues efficiently.
- Provide updates and reports on ongoing incidents, system changes, and recommendations to management.
- Stay informed on new industry developments in Google Workspace, Office 365, Cisco/Meraki, and DevOps/SysOps technologies.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Educational and Experaince Requirements:
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to high-quality service delivery.
- Expertise in Google Workspace and Office 365 administration.
- Experience with Cisco/Meraki network infrastructure, including VLANs, Cisco IOS, and wireless configurations.
- Familiarity with DevOps and SysOps processes and tools.
- Basic programming/scripting experience, such as Python, Powershell, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Proficiency with Windows and/or Linux operating systems, and Active Directory.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, with exposure to Google Workspace, Office 365, and network infrastructure (Cisco/Meraki).
- Familiarity with scripting, automation, and DevOps practices.
- Experience supporting IT infrastructure in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Certifications such as Google Workspace Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA A+, or ITIL are desirable.
