Senior Backend Developer/Backend Lead

Our client is a reputable Singapore-based enterprise undergoing significant digital transformation across core business and IT systems. As part of this journey, they are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to play a key role in designing and building scalable backend solutions to support next-generation digital products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend systems, microservices, and RESTful APIs
  • Collaborate with product managers and frontend teams to deliver fit-for-purpose digital solutions aligned with business and IT strategy
  • Ensure backend systems are secure, reliable, and optimized for performance
  • Drive technical discussions, make architectural decisions, and conduct code reviews etc.
  • Manage system integrations across internal and third-party platforms
  • Contribute to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for streamlined software delivery
  • Document design decisions, workflows, and technical specifications
  • Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system resilience
Requirements:

Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of backend development experience, ideally in enterprise or cloud-native environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, Java, and frameworks such as Spring Boot/Spring Cloud
  • Proficient in designing microservices, RESTful APIs, and integrating message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Skilled in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments with knowledge of shell scripting
  • Experienced with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and API security standards (OAuth2, JWT)
Good to Have
  • Exposure to integrating systems like SAP, Salesforce
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  • Familiarity with AI services (Azure Cognitive Services, Google AI APIs) and automated testing tools (JUnit, Postman, Selenium)
