At Geoskop, we are a Climate Intelligence boutique providing unique climate prediction insights to guide industry's Climate Change adaptation processes. We are technologists and scientists developing new algorithms and software for our clients, focused on predicting the future impact of climate across the globe.

Geoskop is seeking a junior data scientist (onsite job in Sabadell, Spain, full-time), to strengthen its technical and market capabilities of Climate Intelligence by contributing to the development of innovative climate predictions and products, and supporting a variety of industry projects through to implementation. We’re looking for someone at the early stage of their career who is eager to grow and sees Geoskop as a dynamic scientific startup, driven by agility and real-world results


Your duties will be:

  • Explore new tools based on Artificial Intelligence that allow adding value to the industry by incorporating predictive climate/weather data
  • Automate as much as possible these algorithms, their validation procedure, quantification of uncertainty and preprocessing of input data
  • Assist in managing our back-end system, testing it, suggesting improvements and interacting with the end-user / client
  • Analyze and process raw data, ensuring quality, cleansing, and structuring for further analysis.
  • Get directly involved in projects with the client. Generate actionable insights for business improvements
  • Prepare reports, write case studies, and contribute to the broader business development of a growing scientific start-up.


What Geoskop is looking for:

  • Graduated in physical sciences, climatology, applied mathematics or any related discipline
  • Python know-how is a must (we are Numpy lovers), more specifically for scientific computing
  • Advanced English level or higher
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to set priorities and work to deadlines
  • Interest on working on the practival client side too
  • (Desirable) Experience developing, testing and debbuging algorithms
  • (Desirable) Experience in GIT
  • (Desirable) Experience using Tensorflow-Keras and Scikit Learn
  • (Desirable) Knowledge of Python “compilers” (e.g. Cython, Numba) and multiprocessing is welcome
  • (Desirable) Experience in data modelling, data interpretation and transforming data into valuable information for the client
  • (Desirable) Scientific publications in the field of climatology or related are welcome


We offer a full time contract (8hr., onsite work in Sabadell, Spain) with annual bonus based on merits and company's results. Should you join us, you will work at the forefront of a scientific program raising awareness about the climate.
