CNAP (cloud-native application protection) and EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) Engineer
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNAP and EDR Sr. Security Engineer to join our customer’s team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CNAPP and EDR agents across diverse enterprise environments. This role will primarily focus on supporting system administration teams, ensuring the security and efficiency of client and server endpoints, and maintaining CNAPP/EDR tools and services, with a special emphasis on the CNAPP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to customer (system administration teams) in deploying and maintaining CNAPP and EDR agents on enterprise environments, including:
- On-premises and public cloud environments (AWS and Azure)
- Client & server endpoints (physical hosts, VMs, VDIs, and containers)
- Various operating systems (Windows, Linux, and MacOS)
- Test, maintain, and document security policies for CNAPP and EDR.
- Liaise with infrastructure teams and vendors to ensure the uptime and maintenance of CNAPP and EDR tools and services.
- Focus on CNAPP for deploying, maintaining, and optimizing container and cloud-native security solutions.
- Contribute to the improvement of services by testing, maintaining, and documenting security policies and procedures for CNAPP and EDR.
- Define and enforce custom security policies for containers, hosts, and orchestrators (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of security posture.
- Integrate CNAPP tools with other security tools and platforms to enhance overall security posture.
- Monitor the performance of CNAPP tools and optimize configurations to ensure minimal impact on system resources while maintaining robust security.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with CNAPP (e.g. Sysdig, Wiz.io, etc.) or similar container and cloud-native security platforms is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with virtualizations/container (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of Security principles, especially in cloud environments and familiarity with Falco like tools for runtime security.
- Hands-on experience with AV/EDR tools (e.g. Carbon Black or equivalent) is a plus.
- Solid experience in security engineering role, particularly in cloud-native environments.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting networking issues (connectivity, routing, etc.).
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent working experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience in securing cloud-native environments, including containerization and orchestration platforms (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
- At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience with CNAPP (e.g. Sysdig Secure) or an equivalent tool for monitoring, securing, and optimizing containerized applications and cloud-native infrastructure.
