Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Scrum Master with strong experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance domain to support a leading insurance client in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Agile Scrum practices, especially within data engineering environments, and must be comfortable working onsite 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies: Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Manage Agile delivery using JIRA, including backlog setup, Sprint boards, dashboards, and JQL-based reporting.
  • Partner with Product Owners to groom product backlogs, guide user story estimation, and prioritize delivery.
  • Track and report Agile metrics such as Velocity, Sprint Completion, and Defect Churn to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with ART Leads and RTE to draft PI plans, facilitate PI planning events, and monitor PI execution.
  • Support production deployments, track release cadence, and manage warranty/support periods.
  • Promote Agile best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Encourage and enable CI/CD practices, automation adoption, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Drive team skill assessments and propose actionable improvement plans.
  • Facilitate business workshops, gather and document both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads and Architects to align with technology roadmaps and document technical decisions.
  • Understand and contribute to discussions involving cloud-based data engineering architectures.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8–10 years of experience as a Scrum Master leading Agile teams, especially in data-centric projects.
  • 3–5 years of recent experience working in Property and Casualty Insurance.
  • Expertise in JIRA for Agile project tracking and reporting.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Understanding of cloud-based data engineering platforms and architecture.

Preferred Skills:

  • SAFe Agile experience
  • Experience working within large enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
