About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Unity Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex AR/VR and mixed reality simulations that serve as vital training tools for Navy personnel. Your work will directly contribute to creating immersive, realistic training scenarios that enhance the preparedness and effectiveness of military members. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, software engineers, and designers to deliver engaging and high-fidelity simulations that meet rigorous military standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Unity development, experience with 3D game design, and a passion for creating impactful training solutions. This opportunity offers a chance to support national defense initiatives while working in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The role may involve occasional on-site visits, especially for collaboration with clients and stakeholders, but primarily offers remote work flexibility. Candidates must possess an active DoD-issued Secret security clearance or be willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of relevant experience with Unity, 3D development, and C# programming
• Experience designing and implementing Virtual and/or Augmented Reality applications in Unity for devices like Meta Quest, HoloLens, or similar headsets
• Proficiency in writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code using C# within Unity
• Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of identifying performance bottlenecks
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles
• Active DoD-issued Secret security clearance or willingness to obtain one
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field from an accredited institution
• Experience with Unity SDKs such as MRTK, OpenXR, Vuforia, and multiplayer networking tools like Photon Engine
• Familiarity with supporting software including Python, Docker, GitLab, and database management

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop high-fidelity naval training simulations that are team-based and scenario-rich
• Implement best practices for Unity game development, ensuring code quality and performance optimization
• Design and develop AR/VR features utilizing SDKs such as MRTK, OpenXR, or equivalent platforms
• Support multiplayer functionality by integrating networking solutions like Photon Engine
• Implement gameplay mechanics, user interfaces, session management, and interactive elements
• Integrate 3D assets, animations, and multimedia content into Unity projects
• Design, develop, and maintain database schemas to support simulation data and analytics
• Develop and execute Unity test cases within CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliability and performance
• Containerize web services supporting multimedia content delivery and data analytics
• Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and collaborative development efforts to ensure project success
