Join an Ed-Tech scale-up as a Technical Lead (80% Back-End focused). Work with an established Tech team that is hiring as the business continues to bring on additional customers. You'll work on a variety of projects and get involved with coding and solution-design/architecture. You will also manage a small team of 4-5 developers (roughly 80% hands on work, 20% leadership). The business offers a hybrid working style, requiring you to work out of their CBD office 2 days per week. The business is not dependant on funding, although is backed by VC's. The business is looking to expand it's customers on a global scale this year.
Responsibilities:
- Write code, perform solution design and solution architecture
- Manage a small team of 4-5 engineers. This is more so reviewing code and delegating work. The Engineering Manager will manage their career progression.
- Performing code reviews with peer engineers
- Operate as a team player, as well as coaching and mentoring other engineers
- Make suggestions on how to improve the codebase and architecture
- Work with the support team to debug and fix production defects
- Occasionally engaging with customers by coming along to demos and customer success meetings
- Work collaboratively with product manager, designer and other engineers to deliver solutions that enhance our customers’ experience
Requirements:
- 8+ years experience as a Full-Stack or Back-End developer
- 2+ years experience leading/managing teams
- Minimum 3+ Node.JS (Express) experience
- Comfortable with AWS (or similar). Able to ship your own code
- Exposure to Front-End frameworks (Angular preferred, but not essential)
- Experience performing solution design from scratch
- Excellent communication skills
- You're happy to mentor junior and mid-level engineers
- You have a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (and this extends to performance, data structures, algorithms and design patterns)
- The companies tech stack is: Node.Js, Angular, Typescript, AWS, Serverless Infrastructure
