ROS 2 Embedded Software Engineer

Join our client's innovative team in the Netherlands to design and implement embedded software for advanced robotic platforms. You will work closely with hardware engineers and robotics researchers to build real-time, reliable, and scalable software based on ROS 2 that powers autonomous machines.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain embedded software components in ROS 2 for robotic applications
- Work with C/C++ and real-time operating systems to ensure deterministic behavior
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams on sensor integration, motion control, and communication protocols
- Optimize and debug embedded systems to meet performance and reliability requirements
- Contribute to system architecture discussions and continuous improvement processes
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience in ROS 2 development and ROS ecosystem
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded or robotics systems
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems (e.g., RTOS, Linux with PREEMPT-RT)
- Knowledge of robotics concepts such as SLAM, motion planning, sensor fusion is a plus
- Experience with embedded Linux, cross-compilation, and debugging tools
- Good communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus but not mandatory)
