Job Overview:

The job holder is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of efficient project management processes and methodologies within the organization. This role involves assisting in the initiation, review, and approval of potential projects, and helping establish clear project scopes, timelines, quality standards, and cost estimates to ensure successful delivery. The key responsibilities include providing leadership in best practices to enhance the organization’s project management capabilities, along with administrative duties such as budget tracking and contract management. The goal is to contribute to the successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders while supporting the organization’s overall objectives and strategy.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing annual departmental plans and budgets by identifying staffing needs, expenses, and key initiatives.
  • Contribute to creating standard operating policies and procedures that establish frameworks for efficient project management processes across the organization.
  • Support project capacity and resource planning efforts by providing project management tools and templates to promote consistency and efficiency.
  • Aid in implementing a company-wide methodology for evaluating and approving projects through effective project portfolio management.
  • Help develop processes to manage the project portfolio based on investment and strategic alignment, ensuring optimal resource utilization for maximum returns.
  • Collaborate with business line managers to identify and scope out new projects, engage appropriate stakeholders, and prepare documentation for the designated oversight committee.
  • Play an active role in the oversight committee to support prioritization, project capacity, and resource planning processes.
  • Monitor and document the progress of projects, focusing on cost, timing, and quality management.
  • Establish status reporting templates and executive overview templates to track costs against estimates and address project risks effectively.
  • Develop contingency plans for at-risk projects and ensure stakeholders are regularly updated on significant project status items

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, preferably an MBA or equivalent qualification
  • Project Management Certification is required.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in similar position.
  • Recent 4 years Management experience in running a PMO with oversight of a staff of project managers
