Job Title: Cloud Operations Engineer

Location: Vancouver, BC

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Azure cloud operations, with a strong focus on security and vulnerability management.
• Proven experience in managing and securing large-scale Azure environments in production settings.
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning, remediation, and compliance within enterprise cloud infrastructures.
• Extensive experience in security incident response and threat mitigation in Azure environments.

Technical Skills

Azure Expertise

• Deep understanding of core Azure services, including:
• Azure Security Center
• Microsoft Defender for Cloud
• Azure Key Vault
• Azure Policy
• Azure Sentinel (SIEM)
• Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)

Security and Vulnerability Tools

• Proficient in using tools such as Qualys, Tenable Nessus, or Rapid7 for vulnerability scanning and management.
• Experience with native Azure security tools for threat detection and remediation.

Infrastructure Hardening

• Strong knowledge of best practices for securing Azure resources such as virtual machines, storage accounts, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and network components.
• Familiarity with zero-trust architecture principles and their implementation in Azure.

Automation and Scripting

• Advanced scripting skills using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, or other automation tools.
• Experience in integrating security checks and controls within CI/CD pipelines.

Certifications (Preferred or Mandatory)

Azure Cloud Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)

Security Certifications

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
• CompTIA Security+
• GIAC certifications (e.g., GCIH, GSEC, GCED)

Other Requirements

• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA.
• Experience conducting or supporting cloud security audits.
• Demonstrated ability to stay up to date with emerging cloud and cybersecurity technologies and trends.
