Our new company
Our client, major Federal Govt organisation, are seeking TSPV cleared Devops Engineers. Primary responsibility involves Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software using DEVOPS practice. Involved in the planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system. Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.
Your new role
Key responsibilities include:
- Engage in software development assignments requiring expert software coding knowledge, experience and application. This includes - Software prototyping and investigations, Software coding and unit testing and Software documentation
- Correct program errors in existing maintained systems
- Provide input to the assessment of software products
- Perform continuous improvement on customer software as guided by the customer
- Respond to break /fix Level 2 (back of house) and Level 3 (in-house system designer) support for designated customer owned software applications.
- Pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues, and develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships in order to achieve business objectives.
- Drive the application and fitness/improvement of software and system technical frameworks to the encompassed project/system/platform
- Make decisions on the assessment of tools, software products, procedures, methods and techniques
- Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter and techniques used
- Undertake decision making based on measurement, forecasting and analysis techniques
- Lead the management of technical risk and customer relationships
- Coach and mentor staff to develop their skills and capabilities, enabling value add to the business
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems etc.) from a recognised institution
- Outstanding understanding and experience in use of object oriented development methodologies using a documented process
- Extensive experience in relevant technologies and domains including JS, AWS, Kubernetes, GitLab, Containerisation technologies
- Advanced skills and experience in the use of MS Office and other relevant software packages and applications
- Advanced understanding of DevSecOps methods, tools and techniques
- Lead Experience in an Agile software development team
