Senior Software Engineer

**Abeya** is a technology company enabling shorter cocoa and coffee supply chains, for the benefit of farmers, manufacturers, and the planet.

For decades, the agricultural commodity industry has struggled to improve the sustainability and livelihoods of smallholder farmers. At Abeya, we believe that the future of agri supply chains is direct, transparent and regenerative. To that end, we are enabling food companies to buy commodities directly from farmer cooperatives with trust, transparency and ease.

We are an early team of repeat founders who have worked at unicorns and top 3 consulting agencies, but also built our own agroforestry plantations and worked for years with smallholder farmers. Backed by leading food and agri VCs, we’re now assembling a tight-knit team of highly motivated, mission-driven builders in Paris, and our operating countries.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you’ll own features end-to-end, delivering insights-to-polish across both Android and web platforms for agri SMEs, exporters, and enterprise buyers. Daily, you’ll:

• Design and build customer-centric UIs: empathise with users—cooperators in the field and enterprise teams—to deliver beautiful, intuitive apps, not just performant ones.
• Own full feature lifecycle: ideate, build, test, deploy, monitor, and iterate on production-quality features like farmer enrollment, order flows, and traceability dashboards .
• Ship fast, measure impact: Break features into deliverable milestones with metrics (e.g. “onboarding flow conversion +20%”, “app startup under 2s”).
• Build cross-platform excellence: develop React and React Native (Android) interfaces with seamless UX.
• Implement offline-first sync logic: use Supabase RealTime features with conflict resolution for low-connectivity environments.
• Develop robust backend services: build APIs, business logic, and Supabase integrations in Node.js/TypeScript (Cloudflare workers)
• Meaningfully integrate AI tooling: enhance teams through code agents, prompt-based scaffolding, and AI-assisted QA pipelines.
• Collaborate with peers: work directly with the Lead Engineer—pair program, share code reviews, and jointly reduce tech debt.

You’re a highly experienced, product-driven engineer who delivers outstanding user experiences, not just technical ones. You have:

• 4+ years in JS/TS, with strong expertise in React and React Native (Android)
• Demonstrated experience building beautiful, user-friendly mobile & web interfaces, collaborating with designers/product .
• Proven track record of end-to-end ownership: design, code, deploy, measure, iterate faster in production environments .
• Familiarity with Supabase, real-time sync, and offline-first solutions.
• Comfortable building Node.js/TypeScript backends with clean APIs and business logic (Cloudflare Workers).
• Experience leveraging AI development tools (Copilot, code agents, prompt-based dev flows).
• An obsession for product quality and customer impact, not just performance metrics.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup: moving quickly, shipping frequently, owning your work.
• Fluent in English; French is a plus.
