About The Role

As a Support Officer, you will be providing timely support and guidance to all employees at the lounges in Hamad International Airport. You will develop, direct and sustain effective working relations with employees, Group HR, external service providers, HIA Management, MOI and stakeholders in order to extend prompt and comprehensive support to employees across the lounges.

Key Accountabilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Extend full support and guidance for employee cases related to employee support, including liaising with internal departments, HMC and other medical facilities, partner departments, QRC, MOI and Immigrations, hotels, outstation stakeholders, family members. Ensure that comprehensive support and assistance is extended to employees admitted in DOH including organising visits, assistance in conveyance to and from medical facilities.
  • Perform timely follow-ups and wellbeing checks as per established SLAs in liaison with a team of dedicated employee support team members.
  • Create and submit regular reports and updates for Management perusal related to employee medical cases, figures and statistics related to absences.
  • Facilitate employee cases that require necessary Senior Management approvals as exceptions in a timely and effective manner.
  • Drive the timely, accurate and efficient execution of processing medical leave, emergency leave, compassionate and other urgent leave requests
  • Timely liaison with internal stakeholders to effectively communicate procedures, requirements and updates received from Management or HR to avoid undesirable disruptions and delays.
  • Ensure compliance with all required and applicable SLAs, SOP’s and LOP’s while handling employee cases related to support, exceptional cases, special requests, training delivery.
  • Ensure effective written and verbal communication while interacting with staff, colleagues, management and relevant stakeholders to ensure they understand and are aware of all applicable procedures, SOP’s and LOP’s. Effective delivery of presentations, trainings and business proposals related to the department.
  • Provide care and support for employees who are recognized as being in need of counselling through illness or other personal challenges.
  • Monitor staff absences including sickness and non-availability for duty, action accordingly and provide the necessary guidance
  • Ensure Accommodation rules are followed for the safety and security of all employees, minimize inter- employee friction and to protect company property.
  • Responsible for assisting staff with high quality and time-bound services associated with the accommodation.
  • Devising and implementing projects/events that increase staff morale and productivity.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience; or
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 3 years of job-related experience

Job-specific Skills & Experience

  • Applicable knowledge of QR policies, HR policies, internal LOP, applicable SLAs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with employees, management, HR, QRC, medical professionals, embassies and outstation stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal and people skills to effectively address and communicate with staff, team members, management, HR.
  • Knowledge of local policies surrounding immigrations, fines, waivers, visa, lost documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management skills to ensure that all relevant documentation, processing and approvals are secured that may be required on a daily basis.
  • Ability to foster teamwork among team members. Flexible and be able to adapt to multi-cultural work environment.
  • Ability to draft reports and memos.
  • Prepare power point presentations and deliver trainings
