About the role

As a Tech Lead on our Platform team, you’ll transform how engineers across multiple product teams experience their daily work – from local development to production deployment. You combine technical leadership with people enablement to make engineering faster, safer, and more joyful. You lead a small team of SRE and Backend engineers and treat the platform as a product—balancing roadmap execution, developer experience, and operational resilience.

This role requires wearing two distinct but complementary hats: the technical one focuses on building and architecting developer-friendly platforms and tools; while the leadership one ensures successful adoption, team growth, and organizational alignment. Both are essential—great platform technology means nothing without adoption, and strong leadership without technical depth can't deliver the tools engineers need.

With the technical hat, you will:

• Own the internal platform roadmap and backlog—aligning priorities with strategic goals, developer feedback, and long-term sustainability.
• Drive the design and delivery of internal platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling.
• Create shared libraries, frameworks, and developer tools (SDKs, CLIs) that standardize development while improving productivity.
• Embed secure-by-default, observable, and compliant practices into platform design while leveraging AI and automation to reduce cognitive load
• Communicate changes clearly via changelogs, documentation, and internal demos.
• Act as the technical decision-maker for platform architecture, tooling standards, and lifecycle policies.

With the leadership hat, you will:

• Lead and grow a small team of SRE and Backend engineers—running 1:1s, supporting onboarding, goal setting, and performance feedback.
• Foster platform adoption across engineering teams through training, documentation, and developer engagement.
• Lead the backend guild and promote consistent standards across teams.
• Partner with Tech Leads, Engineering Managers, and architects to align platform direction with organizational needs.
• Champion a culture of ownership, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
• Track and report on platform impact metrics such as adoption rates, developer satisfaction (NPS), and operational stability.

Our ideal candidate

• Experience leading platform or developer productivity initiatives across teams.
• Strong background in Java (Quarkus) or NodeJS (NestJS), with Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS), microservices, and developer tooling.
• Experience implementing lifecycle strategies (versioning, migration, deprecation).
• Proven ability to document, communicate, and drive adoption of platform tools and standards.
