ALTEN NL - Senior Embedded Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our global, cross-functional team developing cutting-edge solutions in industrial automation. You will collaborate with experts from Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, and Product & Advanced Services Sales to drive innovation and shape next-generation products and services — including hygienic industrial PCs and virtualized Machine/Edge/AI Controllers with secure connectivity to industrial dataspaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to multidisciplinary development projects for advanced Industrial Automation products, including Industrial PCs, HMIs, and Robotics.
• Lead the software development of our next-generation Virtualized Machine Controllers integrated with Industrial PCs.
• Take product ideas from concept through to development and deployment.
• Collaborate with international teams across Europe, the USA, and Japan.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong background in embedded software development, with attention to IoT security practices.
• Proficient in C and C++ programming.
• Hands-on experience with RTOS (such as Linux or equivalents) and confident writing code in real-time environments.
• Solid understanding of driver development.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).
• Familiar with modern CI/CD tools and environments (e.g. Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab).
• A methodical mindset, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills.
• Results-driven, responsible, detail-oriented, and proactive in your work approach.
• Dutch proficiency preferred.
