About the Role
An experienced 3D Animator is required to rig and animate a female action hero character for a 3rd person open world roguelite combat game for PC. The animation style should be inspired by titles such as Stellar Blade and Nier Automata. The scope includes creating a functional rig (body and minimal face rig, with no special bones; clothing and hair will be handled in-engine) and producing approximately 20 animations. These will cover locomotion, combat sequences, special moves, abilities, and smaller interaction or reaction animations. Work is expected to begin between August 10–14, with an estimated duration of 4–5 weeks. The project is entirely remote.
Requirements
- Proven experience in 3D character rigging and animation for games.
- Ability to deliver smooth, stylized animations matching a high-action combat style.
- Skilled in creating functional rigs, including minimal face rigs.
- Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation tools (e.g., Blender, Maya, or equivalent).
- Ability to work from reference styles and adapt to existing game mechanics.
- Strong communication skills for remote collaboration.
- Availability to start mid-August and commit to a 4–5 week production schedule.
- Reliable workflow and file management for integration into the game engine.
