Job Description:

We currently have a vacancy for a Power BI Tester fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert remotely within EU. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated into the team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Tasks

• Develop and execute manual and automated test cases for Power BI dashboards, DAX logic, and data pipelines;
• Validate report data against source systems (e.g. using SQL queries, Power BI desktop etc.);
• Perform UI/UX testing on Power BI reports (layout, interactivity, filters);
• Verify the correctness and consistency of KPIs, calculations, and visualizations;
• Participate in UAT sessions with business users and gather feedback;
• Collaborate with developers to report, track, and resolve defects;
• Test row-level security (RLS) and user access scenarios;
• Assist with maintaining Power BI documentation and artefacts (e.g. Reports mapping to source, DAX formulas definitions/logic);
• Create and maintain QA documentation and artefacts (test plans, test cases, checklists, data validation logs);
• Contribute to test strategy improvements and QA best practices, especially relating to data analytics testing.

Requirements

• University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (e.g., Quality Assurance or another technical discipline), combined with a minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• Minimum 7 years of experience using a disciplined approach for planning, designing, executing and reporting on software testing;
• Minimum 4 years of experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps or equivalent to support software testing;
• Minimum 4 years of experience working in an Agile software development environment;
• Minimum 3 years of experience in automating test cases using tools like Selenium WebDriver (C#), JMeter, and SoapUI;
• Experience in testing Power BI Service (publishing, RLS, refreshes);
• Experience with several types of software testing (e.g. functional, performance, security, etc.);
• Proficiency in SQL (joins, aggregations, data comparisons);
• Strong understanding of data testing and BI report validation;
• Understanding of Power BI Desktop, including data modelling and DAX;
• Familiarity with manual test case design and execution;
• Ability to interpret and test business logic and KPIs;
• A strong understanding of software architecture and network technologies that facilitate white-box testing, including security testing, will be considered an asset;
• ISTQB certification or equivalent will be considered an asset;
