Hayward Hawk are recruiting for a leading payments and fintech provider is seeking a hands-on Director of Software Engineering to lead and scale high-performing teams (14–20 engineers) while staying close to the code. This role blends strategic leadership with technical depth to deliver the next generation of payment solutions.

You’ll shape engineering culture, drive Lean/Kanban practices, and work cross-functionally to deliver innovative, high-quality products that solve real-world challenges in the payments industry.

What you’ll do

• Lead, mentor, and grow engineering teams.
• Stay involved in .NET development and architecture.
• Deliver on the product roadmap with speed and quality.
• Champion best practices across DevOps, CI/CD, and agile delivery.

What you bring

• Director-level leadership (10+ direct reports).
• Strong .NET experience (C#, ASP.NET, or related).
• Payments/fintech industry expertise.
• Experience managing in Lean/Kanban environments.
