this can and should be different, by putting you and your loved ones at the heart of

What?

With Ditto. Our technology allows everyone to capture, explain, and share meaningful

interactions about health. Today, that is an AI-powered app that clarifies any healthcare

encounter and document. Soon, we grow towards a platform that allows you to keep

track of your own healthcare, invite loved ones to follow your care journey, and vice

versa. In short: we want to build the Polarsteps for Health.

Who?

A young yet turbo ambitious and experienced team, with little patience for the status

quo. We're driven by a shared mission and excited about building fast and purposefully.

Days after launch, we reached #1 healthcare app in the Netherlands and got covered by

15 newspapers. This was nice validation, but mostly proof that what we're trying to

Who you are

You are a passionate engineer who finds technology fascinating and enjoys staying up

to date with the most effective tools available. You thrive on solving a huge but

meaningful challenge and are aligned with Ditto’s mission.

You already know Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot aren’t just tools, they’re how you

ship better software, faster. You use AI to amplify your craft, not replace it. This isn’t

about generating code and hoping it works; it’s about writing exceptional software with

AI as your force multiplier. We are all uncovering new frontiers in technology, and you

enjoy actively exploring them with us.

You are an experienced professional who takes ownership of the backend—from

infrastructure and development to requirements discovery, design, deployment, and

monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Lightning speed delivery

• Take responsibility for infrastructure and backend implementation.
• Design and implement tangible, practical systems and applications

(avoiding over-engineering).

• Think along but also push back when our bold ambitions are technically

infeasible/harder than we naively think

Think secure

• Ensure that secure solutions are in place from day one.
• Apply best practices in security for coding and architecture.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks

proactively.

• Proactively design for privacy, compliance, and resilience.

Product Collaboration

• Understand business needs behind each change in software.
• Work closely with product teams to translate business requirements into

robust technical solutions.

• Ensure flexible architecture, capable to survive significant pivots.

Required Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Software Engineer, or similar role.
• Expertise in Azure, Terraform, node.js, Python.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and system design principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a startup
• Knowledge of (Dutch) healthcare system or regulated industry
