Position Summary:

At PopSockets, we are seeking a curious and detail-oriented Marketplaces Analyst to support and drive insights for our global Amazon business. This individual will play a critical role in surfacing performance signals, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring our strategies are rooted in robust data analysis.

The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about data, enjoys building and refining dashboards over time, and brings a strong sense of ownership to their work. This role requires a balance of business acumen, technical skill, and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Action Through Data: Translate data into insights, and insights into decisions. Provide strategic input on what’s working, what’s not, and what we haven’t thought to look at yet.
  • Data Stewardship: Serve as the primary steward of Amazon data sets, partnering with the BI team to enhance data access, structure, and usability.
  • Business Steering: Own the monthly Amazon business review, producing a comprehensive steering report and providing strategic insight.
  • Promotion & Pricing Strategy: Partner with marketplace leads to plan, forecast, and analyze pricing and promo impacts.
  • Issue Triage & Root Cause: Proactively investigate performance drops or anomalies, surface risks, and help operational teams course-correct fast.
  • Tooling & Dashboard Buildout: Design, build and continuously improve Power BI dashboards that turn raw data into intuitive, actionable visualizations for stakeholders across teams.
  • Bridge Business and BI: Work closely with the BI team to ensure we’re collecting, structuring, and leveraging the right data — and automating what we can.
  • Monitor the Market: Stay plugged into category, channel, and competitive trends to contextualize performance and flag emerging opportunities or threats.

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience in analytics, strategy, consulting, eCommerce, or marketplace operations
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI; experience with SQL or Python is a plus
  • Strong experience working with large, complex data sets
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data into insights and present them clearly to diverse audiences
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and working cross-functionally
  • Experience with Amazon or other marketplaces is a strong plus
  • Experience with Snowflake is a plus
  • Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills
  • Teach and be teachable
