Devops Support Engineer, Commodity Trader

We are partnering with a major player in the physical and financial global commodity markets, who are seeking an experienced Devops Support Engineer to join their team. This is a chance to work with one of the largest integrated energy and commodity trading companies in the world, with a global technology team spanning key. You'll be part of an agile delivery model, collaborating with business partners to build multi-asset-class commodity systems focused on automation, user experience, and innovation.

What you'll get to do:
* Devops Support and support critical trading systems across various asset classes, including crude oil, refined oil products, power and gas, coal, emissions, freight, metals, and agricultural products.
* Provide L1/L2 application support for in-house systems, monitoring application health and resolving incidents and service requests within strict SLAs.
* Play a key role in the full trading lifecycle, investigating and diagnosing issues, performing root cause analysis, and coordinating with development teams for bug fixes and enhancements.
* Improve system resilience by performing post-incident reviews and maintaining support documentation to build a robust knowledge base.
* Contribute to process automation by identifying and automating manual tasks to improve efficiency.
* Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders, including clients and vendors, to communicate progress, manage changes, and ensure client satisfaction.
* Manage support tickets and prioritize issues using tools like JIRA and ServiceNow.

What you'll bring to the role:
* 2-5 years of experience in an Devops Support Engineer or production support role
* Expertise in troubleshooting Java/J2EE applications and JVM-related issues.
* Proficiency with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Kibana, and Prometheus.
* Strong technical skills in Unix/Linux, shell scripting, and SQL, with a deep understanding of Microsoft SQL Server programming.
* Experience with databases like MSSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
* Knowledge of CI/CD tools and release management practices, along with familiarity with source control systems like Git and automation platforms like Ansible.
* A solid understanding of ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
* Exceptional communication and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
* The ability to work independently under pressure, with a proactive and self-motivated approach to learning new technologies and solving complex problems.
