IT Infrastructure & Virtualization System Administrator

Main Role:

1. Support IT Infrastructure & Virtualization Operating systems (VMware, Nutanix AHV, OracleLVM in TEST environment and for projects

2. Responsible for handling the calls/ queries and provide IT Infrastructure technical support to the Testing Centre of Excellence (TCOE) team

Principal Accountability:

Physical Server Infrastructure:

• Management and Administration of Physical Server Infrastructure including HPE synergy enclosures, Blade and rack Mountable servers
• Responsible for Server Capacity requirements
• Planning & Requirement Gathering
• Commissioning / Decommissioning of Server Hardware
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting Root Cause Analysis with Timely resolution
• Co-ordinating with principle Vendor as part of RMA (Return Material Authorization) process.
• Vendor Management and Escalation
• Server Administration hosting various Operating Systems
• Knowledge on Storage Systems
• Knowledge on Windows / RHEL Operating Systems

Virtual Infrastructure:

• Installation and deployment of Virtualization Operating systems (VMware, Nutanix AHV, Oracle LVM
• Installation and deployment of Virtualization Operating systems (VMware, Nutanix AHV, Oracle LVM Blade and rack mountable servers
• Configuring and administering virtual networks on standard and distributed switches within Virtual environment
• Maintenance and Management of application and service availability in virtual environment
• Managing clusters, resource pools, templates, virtual machine deployments in Virtual environment
• P2V & V2V migration based on the requirements.
• VM resource capacity planning and maintaining server load across clusters and standalone Virtualization Host servers

Backup & Data Protection:

• Responsible for Virtual environment Backup with Veeam Backup software and Microfocus Tape Backup software
• Management of Backup jobs and enable VM protection based on daily, weekly, monthly basis recovery capacity
• Proactive monitoring and alerting. Reporting using available Virtual environment mgmt. tools

Audit, Security and Compliance

• Ensure proactive implementation of ISO, audit and compliance controls into systems and projects

Personal Specifications:

• Graduate or Diploma in Education
• Experience of 10 years in a reputed organization in I.T
• Professional Trainings or Certifications on Virtualization, Backup, Server HW administration etc.,
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Good analytical, planning, implementation and time management skills
