The Print Systems Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end management of enterprise print infrastructure, including configuration, monitoring, firmware, and driver administration. This role requires expertise in LRS VPSX, AIX/Linux environments, and enterprise-level print management tools, with strong capabilities in incident resolution, vendor coordination, and lifecycle management of print devices. The role operates at Level 2 & 3 support, ensuring optimal print performance and reliability across a global enterprise:
Location: Stockholm Hybrid
Duration: 6 months + chance of extensions
Pay: Negotiable
English with German as a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain in-scope backend print management tools and environments.
- Monitor, configure, and optimize enterprise print infrastructure, including secure print and font management.
- Administer print firmware, drivers, and output management via LRS VPSX, AIX Unix, and related tools.
- Provision unmanaged printers to the customer printer portal and enroll them in queue management systems.
- Conduct thorough testing, validation, and certification of print configurations prior to deployment.
- Provide Level 2 & 3 technical support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis for print-related issues.
- Advise stakeholders on:
- Impact on enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and business processes.
- Performance optimization and technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Develop, document, and maintain detailed technical specifications for print configurations.
- Implement and deploy print configurations for in-scope hardware via centralized management systems.
- Coordinate with OEM and third-party vendors for lifecycle, warranty, and consumable management.
- Support label printing software, bulk printing, and specialized printing needs.
- Manage deployment projects using standard project management methodologies.
- Coordinate and execute upgrades, patches, and alert responses for print systems.
- Maintain knowledge base documentation for newly identified issues and resolutions.
- Provide workspace and hardware consulting for special purpose devices in alignment with business requirements.
- Deliver usage-based reporting and performance metrics for enterprise printing.
- Support integration with Active Directory, remote access tools, and MDM solutions.
Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Enterprise Print Configuration Management, Monitoring, and Optimization.
- Print Firmware & Driver Management.
- LRS VPSX (including unmanaged printer queues and portal management).
- AIX, Linux, and Windows 11 client OS.
- Label and bulk printing solutions.
- Secure Print configuration.
- Print font and output management.
- Knowledge of IMACD processes for printer lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, remote access tools, and MDM.
