We're looking for a Senior Golang Engineer specializing in integrations to join our team at SocialSchedules. Our products, SocialSchedules (socialschedules.com), InhouseDelivery (inhousedelivery.com) and Salaris Payroll (socialschedules.salarispayroll.com) provide labor management, last-mile food delivery and payroll solutions for the restaurant industry, reaching clients in over 25 countries, with a focus on the US, Canada, and Australia. As part of our mission to revolutionise hospitality operations, you'll help refine business logic, build new features, and drive innovation, making a tangible difference for the clients we serve.

Our product team is based in Melbourne, Australia, but we work 100% remotely. Candidates must be located and have permanent residency in Australia for legal reasons but will work fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and Operate: Develop and maintain production-grade APIs and event-based architectures using Golang.

What you’ll do:

• Build and maintain software by writing, testing, and deploying backend services, APIs, and event-based architectures using Golang.
• Collaborate with your team and work closely with developers, product, and design to solve problems together.
• Learn our systems and participate in code reviews and maintenance work to build context.
• Triage real issues and help investigate bugs or customer-reported problems and work with the team on solutions.
• Grow your skills and ask thoughtful questions, seek feedback, and apply what you learn
• Take ownership and embrace a steep learning curve, take initiative, and make progress on your goals

Who You Are

We're looking for someone with:

• Proven experience in building integrations across various solutions.
• 7+ years of Software Development experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Strong development skills in Golang for building REST APIs and working with message queues and event-driven systems.
• Solid understanding of MySQL and data modelling for scalability and performance.
• Experience in AWS products, docker, kubernetes, Git
• Interest in solving real problems for customers and improving how restaurants work
• Able to compare various technologies and frameworks, ability to deep dive into existing code bases for investigative purposes
• Demonstrated curiosity and drive, personal projects, GitHub repos, or self-taught skills are all great signals
• A collaborative mindset, you’re a team player who communicates clearly and enjoys learning from others
• Self-starter attitude, you know how to manage your time, ask for help when needed, and keep momentum
• Ability to work autonomously with little supervision
• Confident attitude to dive into projects and explore new code bases
• Exposure to AI tooling or development (e.g. Cursor, or personal projects using AI tools)

Beneficial experience

• Integration experience with payroll solutions, restaurant related solutions such as POS, tip management, online ordering solutions. 
• Familiarity with hospitality industry compliance requirements in AU, US, or CA (e.g. wage rules, tip pooling regulations)
