Network Engineer

About the Role

Data#3 is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our client’s infrastructure team in Perth. This role focuses on the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of enterprise network systems, with a strong emphasis on HPE Aruba networking and Palo Alto firewall technologies.

You’ll be instrumental in ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable operations that underpin critical business services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Implement: Configure HPE Aruba switches, wireless controllers, access points, and ClearPass.
• Secure & Manage: Maintain Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, VPNs, threat prevention, and compliance measures.
• Monitor & Optimise: Perform capacity planning, firmware upgrades, and ongoing performance monitoring.
• Troubleshoot & Support: Resolve wired, wireless, and security-related incidents in collaboration with IT teams.
• Document & Govern: Maintain accurate network diagrams, SOPs, and security audit records.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Proven experience with HPE Aruba networking and ClearPass.
• Strong hands-on skills in Palo Alto NGFWs and Panorama.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and VPN technologies.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Aruba AirWave, SolarWinds, or PRTG.
• Solid grasp of network security, segmentation, and zero trust principles.

Desirable:

• Certifications (HPE Aruba ACSP, Palo Alto PCNSE).
• Cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and SD-WAN.
• Scripting/automation (Python, Ansible).
