Senior Project Manager – Vehicle Development

As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the vehicle development for upcoming projects on both conventional and zero-emission platforms within a high-stakes environment.

Job Description

In this role, you will lead and deliver development projects while managing budget, timelines, and performance. Your key responsibilities include:

• Planning, scoping, and executing projects in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Identifying and reporting risks, facilitating mitigation strategies.
• Tracking KPIs, recognizing gaps, and defining alternative approaches to meet targets.
• Managing a team of (assistant) project managers to implement plans and strategies.
• Preparing and presenting presentations and overviews for senior management.
• Building a strong network across various business units and bridging process gaps.
• Forecasting and controlling expense and capital budgets and obtaining senior management approvals.
• Identifying escalation issues and leading recovery plans.
• Collaborating closely with the Global Powertrain Organization.
• Initiating continuous improvements in processes, tools, communication, and organization.
• Staying informed on competitors and market developments.

Requirements

You are a strong and persuasive leader with perseverance, holding a Master’s degree preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering. You bring 15+ years of professional experience in an engineering development environment. Additionally:

• 8+ years proven track record in Project Management, preferably with IPMA certification.
• Experience managing projects exceeding €200 million (CapEx + OpEx) over a period of at least 3 years.
• Minimum of 5 consecutive years working for a multinational with over 1,000 employees and €1+ billion in revenue.
• Thrive in high-pressure environments with demanding targets.
• Skilled at solving complex problems through pragmatic and structured approaches.
• Proactively develop plans and strategies involving multiple stakeholders to achieve objectives.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
