About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Head of Operations to join a licensed digital asset platform based in the UAE, serving institutional and professional clients. The role is a hands-on leadership position, responsible for driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and scalable processes across trading, custody, risk, and client services. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure secure, efficient, and institutional-grade infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily trading operations across multiple exchanges, including execution, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Design and manage custody workflows with secure storage and transfer protocols.
• Build and lead a high-performing operations team spanning trading, custody, and client services.
• Establish and maintain operational risk frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with technology teams on infrastructure, APIs, and integrations to support high-volume trading.
• Implement monitoring systems for trade surveillance, exposure, and operational risk.
• Manage relationships with exchanges, custodians, banks, and other service providers.
• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives while maintaining strong operational controls.
• Lead regulatory reporting, audits, and compliance documentation.
• Develop business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.

Requirements

• 8+ years in financial services operations (e.g., crypto trading platforms, asset management, hedge funds, broker-dealers).
• Strong understanding of cryptocurrency markets, blockchain, custody practices, and regulatory frameworks.
• Extensive experience in high-volume trading/custody operations.
• Proven success in building and leading operations teams in regulated environments.
• Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with trading systems, APIs, reconciliation tools, and databases.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results and manage pressure in fast-paced environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with regulated crypto exchanges or institutional digital asset platforms.
• Familiarity with Middle East financial markets and regulators (ADGM, DIFC, VARA, SCA).
• Certifications in operations, risk, or financial services.
• Programming or scripting skills for automation.
• Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
