Full-Stack Developer with Back-End Focus: Build a new Moominverse

Moomin Characters has started to build new digital experiences that bring Moomin fans closer to the stories and to each other. To succeed in this, we are looking for a Full-Stack Developer with Back-End focus to join the Digital Development team here at Moomin Characters. Working for the Moomins is unlike any other workplace, which is reflected in the company’s values, the kind and warm nature of your colleagues, and daily life at the office.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Help us build an industry-leading platform that will let fans around the world experience the stories in new ways through both digital and physical touchpoints and interact with each other.
• Be part of a 3-person team and join our Creative Technologist Jaakko Tepponen and UX Designer Janne Koivisto to imagine, design, refine, and create a new vision for how fans could experience the Moomin stories. The team decides what to work on and how to make it happen, with the support of Design & Growth experts.
• Co-create the setup and technical implementation of a global green field project with award-winning ambition.

We are looking for:

• Action bias, tendency to take ownership and strive for quality.
• Hands-on experience with modern web technologies, both in planning and implementation. You need to be able to take ownership of the overall service architecture and related decisions and be fluent with backend technologies like Nodejs, React, TypeScript, Postgres. Cloudflare and Terraform are a big plus.
• Fluent English.
• You need to have worked on multiple projects at different phases of their lifecycle and know how to build secure web services.
• Interest in working with an art-based brand in a non-technical organization.
• Experience with building consumer experiences (B2C) will be preferred.

Please note that this is an in-person position (4 days in the office, one remote) based in our Helsinki office. We don’t offer remote or hybrid work, relocation, or visa sponsorship. Only candidates living in Finland will be considered. We are not interested in hiring freelancers or consultants for this position.
