Lead DevOps Engineer

Lead DevOps Engineer | Data Platforms | AWS, Snowflake. Terraform

We’re working with a scaling B2B Fintech business where data is central to product and decision-making. They’re looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to take full ownership of their AWS-based data platform, ensuring it’s reliable, observable, and set up to scale.

Important: You must have direct experience working with or within data engineering squads. This role is about enabling data teams and making their platforms production-ready.

This is a high-impact role with direct responsibility for the infrastructure that underpins data engineering. You’ll be hands-on with AWS, Snowflake, and IaC, while driving DevOps maturity across the teams.

What you’ll be doing:

• Own and manage the AWS data platform (EventBridge, Lambda, EC2, MWAA, S3)
• Oversee Snowflake deployment, monitoring, and integration
• Design and maintain observability, alerting, and monitoring frameworks
• Improve CI/CD processes with Bitbucket pipelines
• Champion IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Collaborate with data engineering squads to address pain points and deliver platform improvements
• Manage security groups, IAM, VPCs, and cross-account networking

What we’re looking for:

• Strong background running production platforms in AWS
• Hands-on with EventBridge, Lambda, EC2, S3, MWAA
• Knowledge of Snowflake administration and data platform operations
• Experience with observability and monitoring tooling
• Strong CI/CD experience (Bitbucket Pipelines a plus)
• Comfortable with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work through ambiguity

Nice to have:

• Python scripting for automation
• MLOps tooling exposure
• Familiarity with PowerApps integrations
• Understanding of data lineage and governance

Location & Ways of Working:

Hybrid role: 1–2 days a week in their London office. Collaborative culture with strong autonomy and delivery focus.
