Position: Technical PHP Lead

Location: Brussels (Hybrid: 2 days per week in the office)

Languages Required: French or Dutch (fluent), Technical English

Role Overview: We are looking for a Technical PHP Lead to manage and streamline the development of critical applications. This role combines technical oversight, development, and hands-on architecture expertise in a dynamic, collaborative environment

Technical and Soft Skills:

  • PHP Expertise: 15+ years with versions 7 and 8.
  • Frontend Development: 15+ years in frontend languages and at least 5 years with ReactJS
  • Frameworks: 10+ years in Symfony
  • Testing & Debugging: Strong experience with PHPUnit, Codeception, Behat, and debugging tools (Xdebug, Wireshark).
  • Database Management: 15+ years in MySQL/MariaDB is mandatory and experience with NoSQL databases is a plus
  • Networking & Security: Knowledge of TCP/IP, ISO/OSI protocols, and SSL certificates.
  • Server and Infrastructure: Extensive experience with Linux (Debian, Ubuntu), Docker, OpenShift/Kubernetes, Apache, Nginx.
  • Caching and Indexing: Familiarity with Varnish, Memcache, Redis, Solr (10+ years).
  • Cloud & Infrastructure Operations: Experience in cloud environments


Responsabilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of technical solutions based on functional requirements, focusing on reliability and scalability.
  • Provide guidance on technical analyses, workload estimations, and task organization to optimize application development workflows.
  • Oversee code quality and project performance through thorough code reviews, benchmarks, and testing protocols.
  • Develop best practices for testing, including unit, functional, and performance testing, to maintain the highest standards of quality.
  • Oversee and contribute to comprehensive technical documentation, ensuring it meets practical, real-world needs.
