Technical Pre-Sales Engineer:
A Technical pre-sales engineer who will bridge the gap between sales and Product development team. The primary role of a Technical sales engineer will be to position, Size & Configure IWMS Software Solutions to Clients by understanding their needs and demonstrating how the product meets those needs through POC’s and Pilot projects.
Some of the specific responsibility’s qualities of a Technical Pre-sales engineer include:
- Understanding the customer’s technical needs: Technical Pre-Sales engineer must be able to understand the technical requirements and challenges of a customer’s business and translate those requirements into a solution that the software can provide.
- Conducting product demonstrations, Setup POCs & Pilot Projects: A Technical Pre-sales engineer will be responsible for demonstrating the features and benefits of the software Solutions to customers through software demos and proof-of-concept.
- Responding to technical questions: A Technical Pre-sales engineer must be able to respond to technical questions and concerns from customers, including questions related to software functionality, performance, and security. Should be able to design and explain Software & Security architecture.
- Collaborating with the sales/BD team: A Technical Pre-sales engineer will be working closely with the sales/BD team to identify potential customers, prepare technical responses, create proposals, and develop pricing and licensing options.
- Providing technical support: A Technical Pre-sales engineer should be able to provide technical support and troubleshooting to customers, including helping customers resolve technical issues and answering questions about the software.
- Staying up to date with new technology: A Technical Pre-sales engineer must stay up to date with the latest software and technology trends, as well as new features and updates to the software products they are selling.
Essential Pre-sales engineering skills:
- Technical Knowledge: A Pre-sales engineer must have a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the products and services that are part of the overall platform. As application integration engineers will need to work to address complex challenges and meet the client’s needs
- Must have worked as a pre-sales or Delivery Engineer with 4-5 years of experience with a Software Integration company.
- Knowledge of programming Languages, such as Objective-C (for Apple IOS developers) and Java (for Android developers). However, it is useful to know multiple programming languages. This will make you stand out from the other job applicants.
- Communication Skills: Pre-Sales engineers must be able to communicate effectively with customers, both verbally and in writing.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Pre-Sales engineers must be able to identify customer needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
- Negotiation Skills: Pre-Sales engineers must be able to negotiate with customers to reach mutually beneficial.
- Should be able to use certain tools for example hands-on COE/Labs to deliver customized and personalized demos and POCs to prospects. Other tools may include software applications, labs, and other resources that help sales teams increase their efficiency and effectiveness.
