SQL Developer (Healthcare Data & Reporting) – PureCS

Role Objectives

PureCS is seeking a skilled SQL Developer with strong experience in data reporting and visualization. The primary responsibility will be to design and optimize SQL queries and generate data-driven reports from our Health Information Exchange (HIE) systems. The candidate will also build Excel reports and Power BI dashboards to provide actionable insights for healthcare stakeholders.

Healthcare domain knowledge is highly preferred. This role does not include SQL Server administration or infrastructure maintenance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for extracting and transforming healthcare data.
  • Develop and automate standard and ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders using SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Build Power BI dashboards with advanced visualizations to support clinical, operational, and management decision-making.
  • Work with healthcare data from HIE, EMR/EHR, LIS, and related systems.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across reporting solutions.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, healthcare specialists, and IT teams to understand reporting requirements.
  • Follow best practices for data security, compliance, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA, GDPR, or equivalent standards).
  • Support data validation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for query/report execution.


Skills & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience in SQL development and reporting.
  • Strong experience in SQL, Excel, and Power BI for reporting and dashboards.
  • Proven expertise with healthcare data sets (HIE, EMR/EHR, LIS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as HIPAA or GDPR.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.


Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with ETL processes or data integration tools.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.
  • Exposure to clinical workflows and healthcare terminology.
  • Experience with Azure Data Services, Databricks, or ElasticSearch.
