Job Purpose

JOB PURPOSE:

This role is responsible to play a key role in development and support of applications by undertaking different roles, as and when required by project and by the line management. Activities involve requirements gathering, software design, development, testing, project management, quality assurance, application support / maintenance, stakeholder coordination and liaison with suppliers. Ensure security, availability and smooth functioning of assigned IT systems. Ensure processes and Standard Operating Procedures are documented, reviewed and updated in line with ITIL framework and ISO 20000 & ISO 27001 standards.

Accountabilities

Operational

• Collaborate with business teams to assess their needs and identify opportunities to add value through technology across the airport stakeholders.
• Facilitate gathering and documenting business objectives, functional specifications, requirements, data models and technical architecture to meet an identified business need.
• Prepare functional, non-functional, cyber security, data protection and technical specifications for COTS systems/products from external suppliers or for in-house development.
• Work with solution architects to design right technical architecture to meet business requirements.
• Develop and enhance programs to the specified requirements. Ensure error-free code within agreed time scales, using the tools, and techniques specified by the Project Manager.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of reported incidents in operational systems and ensure right changes to the code, test and promote following the established change management process.
• Liaise with suppliers of third-party applications and technology stacks to ensure timely preventive maintenance and prompt resolution of faults. Ensure that suppliers deliver their services within SLAs.
• Design and prepare test plan strategies and oversee test scripts to validate all new software development and enhancements. Participate and be responsible for testing, training and implementation phases of projects and ensure compliance to established policies, standards and processes.
• Ensure adequate quality of documentation for ease of quality assurance, testing, operation and support.
• Ensure that 100% of software is peer reviewed and unit tested and help ensure that all functional and non- functional requirements are met.
• Support Project Manager in work allocation to junior project staff and performing quality assurance checks as required.
• Manage delivery of subprojects or small systems and solutions, within the established procedures, quality standards and methods to achieve the targets of quality, cost, benefits and time-scales.
• Ensure all software development/products, deliveries and IT process and procedures are implemented and followed in line with all established Corporate IT policies, ISO 27001 and ISO 20000 standards for MATAR IT Services.
• Develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the business and to create new opportunities.
• This role is responsible for management of one or more of the below IT systems:
• Digital & Commercial Systems
• Business Intelligence & Data Science
• Artificial Intelligence
• Integration and Analytics
• Database Management
• Enterprise & Airport Operational Systems
• Passenger Processing Systems
• Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
  
  

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Qualifications And Experience

• High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
  
  

OR

• Qatari Nationals: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent without prior experience Essential
• Experience in Software development Life Cycle (SDLC), system design principles, design and coding standards and Software maintenance
• Experience in managing software implementation and software development projects in an enterprise environment
• Specialist - minimum 5 years of job-related experience in one or more of following areas:
• Cl/CD Pipelines, Kubernetes and Container based technologies
• Working knowledge of various Al capabilities e.g., computer vision, NLP, machine learning, deep learning, large language models, recommendation systems to build applications to solve real world problems
• Data governance process and data quality management
• Creating relevant project and business performance KPls
• Airport systems, Type B messages and ESB/middle-layer
• Experience and knowledge of system implementation and support in an airline/airport domain
• Experience with Vendor Management
