Senior Liferay Developer

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Liferay Developer to take a leading role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust Liferay-based web portals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performance, and user-friendly solutions on the Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP). This role requires strong technical leadership, deep Java/Liferay expertise, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Core responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom portlets, themes, hooks, and OSGi modules using Liferay best practices.
• Customize and extend Liferay platform features to meet specific business needs.
• Integrate Liferay with external systems (e.g., REST APIs, LDAP, SSO, third-party tools).
• Collaborate with architects and designers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Monitor and optimize portal performance, security, and scalability.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers on best practices and development standards.
• Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, and agile ceremonies.
• Support deployment and configuration in various environments (e.g., Dev, QA, Prod).
• Stay up to date with the latest Liferay features, tools, and industry trends.
  
  

Requirements

• Technical Expertise: Strong background in Java/J2EE, with deep hands-on experience in Liferay DXP (7.x+), OSGi architecture, and web portal development.
• Front-End & Integration Skills: Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and modern frameworks like React or Angular; proven experience with RESTful/SOAP APIs, database technologies, and application servers.
• Problem-Solving & Ownership: A solution-driven approach with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues independently.
• Collaboration & Communication: Clear communicator who works well in a team environment and can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Continuous Learning: Enthusiasm for staying current with Liferay releases, Java ecosystem advancements, and digital experience trends.

Liferay Developer Certification
