Position Title – Sr Software Apps Engineer-Android / Android Developer

Hourly Pay Rate - $80 -$85

Job Summary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Android Developer to join our team focused on building high-quality Fantasy Sports features for mobile users. This role involves close collaboration with designers and fellow developers to deliver engaging, reliable, and scalable experiences on the Android platform. You will play a key role in coding new features, maintaining app performance, and contributing to architectural decisions. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a disciplined team player, and a proactive problem solver with a deep understanding of Android development best practices. Success in this role is measured by code quality, peer feedback, and meaningful contributions to team goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with developers and designers to define, build, and deliver new features for sports-focused mobile applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code in Java/Kotlin, contributing to new feature development, architectural improvements, unit testing, refactoring, and bug/crash resolution.
• Participate in app architecture and design reviews, code reviews, performance optimization, and build pipeline management.
• Take ownership of complex technical tasks, including refactors and multi-phase project planning and execution.

Key Projects:

• Ongoing development and enhancement of Fantasy Sports features on the Android platform.

Success Metrics:

• High code quality and maintainability.
• Constructive peer review feedback.
• Positive team collaboration and contribution.

Interview Process:

• 2–3 rounds of technical interviews.

Work Location & Schedule:

• Fully remote.
• Candidates must have availability to collaborate during 9 AM – 4 PM Pacific Time.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong coding and design skills with a solid grasp of mobile development best practices, including object-oriented principles, design patterns, modular/testable code, data structures, concurrency, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Android Studio, Gradle, Git, and other essential Android development tools.
• Familiarity with modern Android frameworks and practices such as Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flows, and Dependency Injection (Hilt/Dagger).
• Experience with Android app architectures including MVI (for new features), MVP (legacy), and MVVM.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• 5–10 years of experience delivering high-quality Android applications.
