Agile Coach

Location: Warren, NJ with occasional international travel

Salary: $100-140K plus excellent benefits package


This position is based full-time in Warren, NJ for the first 3 months and then can be hybrid remote 2 days per week.

Our client is a global leader in the container shipping industry, continuously investing in fleet, capabilities and cutting-edge customer-focused technology solutions. As part of a strategic initiative to standardise data, processes, and management information, a transformative programme has been launched to centralise operations and IT systems. The goal is to establish a single, scalable operational solution across the Group.


Key Requirements

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Agile Coach with a strong technical background and hands-on expertise in Agile methodologies and DevOps. You will support diverse international teams to embed Agile practices that deliver early working software and generate business value.


Essential skills and experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Agile Coach
  • Minimum 2 years in a Scrum Master role
  • 10+ years’ experience working on IT projects
  • Proven experience in large-scale projects, including offshore collaboration
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, (Kanban is a plus), and other Agile methodologies (Lean, XP, DAD, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, Nexus)
  • DevOps mindset with experience coaching development teams
  • Proficiency in tools and techniques such as:
  • TDD, BDD, Unit testing
  • Design Patterns
  • Azure DevOps (Required)
  • At least one recognised Agile certification
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural and distributed team environment
  • Background or interest in the shipping/transport industry (preferred)


Role and Responsibilities

As a member of the Agile Coaching team, you will drive the adoption of Agile values and practices across core IT teams and key stakeholders.


Agile and DevOps Coaching:

  • Lead Agile transformations from traditional Waterfall methodologies
  • Coach teams on Agile values, continuous improvement, collaboration, and value-driven delivery
  • Support programme management and PMO teams in Agile planning and delivery techniques
  • Guide teams in adopting frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS and Nexus
  • Facilitate Agile workshops using techniques like Agile serious games and liberating structures


Training and Development:

  • Deliver structured Agile training for newcomers and existing team members
  • Tailor ad hoc workshops based on team-specific needs
  • Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning across teams
