Data Scientist

Position Details:

Title: Data Scientist

Location: Hybrid (1x per month) - Markham, ON

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Compensation: $120K-$130K base

Interview: 2-3 Rounds

Start day: ASAP

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance existing data platforms, supporting migration from legacy systems to the Azure cloud.
• Lead workforce planning projects, including forecasting business volumes and workforce needs.
• Conduct data discovery, gap analysis, feasibility studies, and proof of concept development.
• Build predictive analytics models using Python (Pandas) and operational datasets.
• Develop dashboards and reports using MicroStrategy and Dash.
• Work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, design concepts, and deliver insights.
• Support end-to-end project execution: requirements gathering, coding, QA/testing, and peer training.
• Deliver multiple smaller projects on shorter timelines (vs. long-term research).

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist.
• Strong Python coding skills (Pandas, predictive/operational analytics).
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and Azure.
• Data visualization with MicroStrategy and Dash.
• Proven track record of delivering projects end-to-end.
• Advanced degree; PhD preferred.
• Background in healthcare, banking, or operational workforce planning is an asset.
