About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer. This role is responsible for maintaining and optimising the organisation’s network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security across all sites. You’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations while contributing to longer-term improvements and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and manage network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
  • Implement and maintain network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) to ensure reliable connectivity and performance
  • Design and manage VLANs, subnetting, and IP address allocation
  • Monitor network health, performance metrics, and availability using appropriate tools
  • Perform routine network maintenance, firmware updates, and system patches
  • Analyse and respond to system logs, alerts, and anomalies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues and network faults
  • Respond to and manage network outages and service disruptions in a timely manner
  • Provide support and guidance to end-users and collaborate with other IT staff on cross-functional projects

Essential

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in configuring and managing enterprise network environments
  • Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 networking, including BGP, OSPF, and TCP/IP
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, switching, and wireless access point configuration
  • Proficiency in VLAN management, subnetting, and IP planning
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during incidents

Desirable

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Juniper, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud networking and/or SD-WAN environments
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices as applied to networking
  • Experience supporting multi-site networks
