About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer. This role is responsible for maintaining and optimising the organisation’s network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security across all sites. You’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations while contributing to longer-term improvements and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

Configure, deploy, and manage network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
Implement and maintain network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) to ensure reliable connectivity and performance
Design and manage VLANs, subnetting, and IP address allocation
Monitor network health, performance metrics, and availability using appropriate tools
Perform routine network maintenance, firmware updates, and system patches
Analyse and respond to system logs, alerts, and anomalies
Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues and network faults
Respond to and manage network outages and service disruptions in a timely manner
Provide support and guidance to end-users and collaborate with other IT staff on cross-functional projects

Essential

Skills & Experience

Demonstrated experience in configuring and managing enterprise network environments
Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 networking, including BGP, OSPF, and TCP/IP
Hands-on experience with firewalls, switching, and wireless access point configuration
Proficiency in VLAN management, subnetting, and IP planning
Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during incidents

Desirable

Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Juniper, etc.)
Experience with cloud networking and/or SD-WAN environments
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices as applied to networking
Experience supporting multi-site networks
