Title: Agile Coach
Location: 3x Per Week - Hybrid (Naperville, IL)
Job Type: Contract Through December 2025 (extensions likely; permanent conversion unlikely)
Interview Process: 2 Rounds (1st virtual, final on-site)
Compensation: $60/hr - $70/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Healthcare benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, financial protection benefits, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options. 401k retirement account access is offered starting on the 90th day with employer matching after one year of service. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an assertive and proactive Agile Coach to join our team in Naperville, IL. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional soft skills and a flexible mindset to guide seven scrum teams through their agile transformation. This role requires a hands-on leader who can create structure and foster collaboration within their environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coach and mentor multiple scrum teams, helping them adopt agile principles and practices
- Assess current workflows and implement frameworks to drive structure, transparency, and collaboration
- Facilitate conversations with C-suite and leadership, clearly explaining agile methodologies and their value, especially in a results-driven, waterfall-oriented environment
- Address team challenges and resistance, adapting coaching style to meet varying levels of agile maturity
- Develop and deliver training, workshops, and resources to support agile adoption
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align agile practices with business objectives
- Track progress, measure outcomes, and report on team performance and agile maturity
- Preferably bring experience from the insurance industry
Requirements:
- Proven experience coaching scrum teams in environments transitioning from waterfall to agile
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to create structure and drive change in ambiguous environments
- Comfortable engaging with executive leadership and explaining agile concepts
- Flexible, pragmatic approach to agile adoption
- Experience in the insurance industry preferred
